Welcome to our quick guide for what to expect at Disneyland Paris during the upcoming Halloween Season. Guests visiting between 1st Oct to 4th Nov 2018 will be treated to an array of characters, a new float and a returning Castle Stage show.
The park is celebrating the 90th Birthday of the everyone’s favourite Mouse and this year Disney tell us that he will be taking on a bigger role in the Halloween celebrations. This year Disney are calling the season the Spooky Mouse Skelebration – their craziest Halloween ever! For his anniversary, Mickey is conjuring up the most hair-raising Halloween to ever descend on Disneyland Paris. The season marks the return of Mickey’s Halloween Celebration, I can’t wait to see what Mickey has in store for us.
This year Disney fans will be pleased to hear that the Halloween Cavalcade will be returning, after being replaced with a Tricycle gang last year due to the 25th Anniversary celebrations. Mickey will be using all his tricks to steal the show on what I hope will be an amazing new float called Mickey’s Illusion Manor. Disney Characters are due to parade along the streets of Disneyland Park in special autumn outfits including the Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Chip and Dale, Three Little pigs and a special appearance by Huey, Dewey and Louie.
Disney are trying to make this extra special by promising a conjuring of Mickey magic with apparitions and disappearencs! I am excited to find out what this will be!
Castle Stage Show
This is the return of the hugely popular Villain show on the Castle Stage as they gate crash Mickey’s Birthday Party. In previous years, guests could wait for pictures with their favourite villains after the show, so I hope this will happen again. However, this time we are treated to Maleficent Donald.
Disney are telling us to ‘Expect the unexpected as famous Disney mischief makers get up to their old tricks and invite themselves to our craziest Mouse skelebration. They can’t resist a chance to perform their spectral spectacular in a spooky show of villains on royal Castle Stage. It’s sure to give you cheeky chills…and plenty of laughs too.’
One of the highlights of the Halloween season is Maleficent’s briar bush at Castle Courtyard. Thorns wrap around the area which is usually home to the Sword in the Stone. With smoke effects and lighting, this has to be seen in person to appreciate how amazing this is. You will also have a chance to meet the Maleficent herself. Disney have told us to ‘watch out’ because her fellow masters of mischief have invited themselves to Mickey’s party and they’re on the loose. I’m hoping this means random characters roaming the parks! There is nothing more exciting than spotting one of your favourite characters just walking around greeting guests.
Other Character meets revealed are Minnie, Stitch, Goofy, Jose Carioca and Panchito Pistoles and Cheshire Cat!
Last year decorations where kept just in Frontierland due to the birthday celebrations. This year marks the return of decorations that will be spread across Main Street U.S.A. and into Frontierland. Banners, pumpkins and even the street lamps get the Halloween treatment. The highlight of last year was a Disney Pixar’s CoCo inspired overlay outside of Fuente del Oro Restaurant.
For the true Halloween experience I can highly recommend the Halloween Party. This happens just once a year with Disney promising it will bigger, better and badder than ever before! This takes place on 31st October 2018, from 20.30 to 2:00. If you are only going to the party you can gain entrance to Disneyland Park from 17:00 for holders of an evening ticket. This is a night of exclusives so look out for our Halloween Party blog in the run up to the event!
